The story
I started the One Dollar Computer twelve years ago, wanting to change the world with a machine anyone could afford. I never gave up — because talent is everywhere, and a dollar should be enough to awaken it.
That long path is how the computer reached a real dollar: years of stripping the design down until every part earned its place.
Core mission
To awaken talent around the world. Talent is everywhere; opportunity often is not. The One Dollar Computer exists to close that gap — making electronics feel as reachable as a pencil.
What it is

Why “One Dollar”?
The name is a declaration of intent: radical accessibility, psychological permission to experiment, and the belief that powerful tools need not be expensive. Even if costs fluctuate, the mission does not.

Open with responsibility
Anyone can download, manufacture, and improve the design. Openness should still mean accessibility, integrity, simplicity, education-first thinking, and long-term care for the mission.

The One Dollar Computer enables learning, experimentation, educational robotics (ROBOX™), modular ecosystems, web-based tools, and a new generation of inventors. It is infrastructure for invention.
